The aim of the project was to create a system for the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service . The project provides a comprehensive system for event reception, posting and coordination of the air force emergency crew.
• Analysis and design of the architecture for the establishment and operation of the service, including connection to the Integrated Rescue System organization
• Design, development, installation and maintenance of a system for creating and handling the rescue management system, including training of workers
• Technical and user support 24 hours a day
Condition before implementation
Event information for the air force emergency crew was handed over to the crew using the pager that every crew member needed. The pilot had to use a paper map, find a place to hit, calculate the course, and enter it into the navigation on board the helicopter. The crew had to estimate the time of arrival and find out the weather, before they could lift off. These actions increased the time lag between taking the event and the take-off itself.
Condition after implementation
Events are accepted using the GINA HEMS app that is designed for Apple iPad devices that are certified as EFB devices and suitable for use in the air. Upon receipt of the event, the crew immediately sees the location of the event, the status and information about the patient, course, distance to the hit, arrival time, possibility to choose from several maps and layer showing current weather forecast with visualization on the map. Using a satellite map, you can find a suitable landing area for your helicopter landing before you arrive. Thanks to GINA HEMS, the crew has a direct connection to the HEMS base and other HEMS crews. Thanks to the inter-country connection, it is possible to see and co-operate with other organizations of the rescue system.
